Around Me 04:16
Like a tree wide and steady, You are planted by my side, As I turn make myself ready, You’re digging in for the fight. You have chosen to stay here in this place, And you have frozen your arms in an embrace, Around me, Around me, Around me Like the sun slowly rising, Comes round each and every day, You return on each occasion, You refuse to walk away. You have chosen to stay here in this place, And you have frozen your arms in an embrace, Around me, Around me, Around me Like a wine time means flavour, You poured your time into my hands. Given your all, been crushed and bottled, Been on your knees so I could stand. You have chosen to stay here in this place, And you have frozen your arms in an embrace, Around me, Around me, Around me Like a friend, like a lover, Like a father, like a fool, You’re always there in every weather, I live my life by that one rule. You have chosen to stay here in this place, And you have frozen your arms in an embrace, Around me, Around me, Around me

Daddy's Girl 04:48
Don’t remember if I remember; Or just remember being told, But I know that they were warm days, Honeyed drops of liquid gold. Your hands so big and steady, Your arms the equator of my world, You tried so hard to make us ready, I’d always be your baby girl. Dah Dee, Dah Dee, Da Da Da Da Da Dee, Daddy. You taught me lots about grace and mercy, Like when your lie-in you were forced to skip, And you were cross coz it was really early, But then you took us on a riverboat trip. Your hands so big and steady, Your arms the equator of my world, You tried so hard to make us ready, I’d always be your baby girl. And I rolled my eyes each time, You said my beauty was not just on the inside, I said it didn’t mean much Coming from my Dad – but it did. And of course you made mistakes; Sometimes you pushed us and we ran, But at least you let us watch you trying, To be made a better man You told us we were peaceful warriors, Urged us to be brave and kind. And I’m smiling now coz I know that, If you hear this there’ll be tears in your eyes. Your hands so big and steady, Your arms the equator of my world, You tried so hard to make us ready, I’d always be your baby girl. Dah Dee, Dah Dee, Da Da Da Da Da Dee, Daddy.

You can’t have life if you don’t have loss And you know it’s real love when you pay the cost. Bound together, joy and the pain, Sometimes brings beauty sometimes you just feel the strain. And I wonder did Shakespeare really know what he was talking about? Better to have loved and lost? Some days I know that I would rather just go without. And there are days when I’d like to try, But all that I can do is wonder why. I’d like to touch all those broken hearts, And bring some sweet release where they are torn apart.. There are no words for some kinds of pain, I watch from the sidelines and pray for rain. Find sense in the senseless, hope in the dark, (no chord) Stop drinking bitterness – be thankful for the spark... But I still wonder did Shakespeare really know what he was talking about? Better to have loved and lost? Some days I know that I would rather just go without.

Dirty Love 01:30
Where starts the truth? Where ends the lie? The tongues of men weren't made to fly. And yet each day to flight they take; A flight of fancy for fancies sake. We are but simple creatures all, Yet how complex we make the fall. Of all the lies upon the shelf The biggest ones are saved for self. Oh but to know an honest heart! Who unafraid to throw the dart, Will bearing on a bloody chest Display the scars of sin confessed. And so my poem speaks my love, For you dear-heart do not come scrubbed; But let me finger through the grime And let me feel the you that's mine.
