Where starts the truth?
Where ends the lie?
The tongues of men weren't made to fly.
And yet each day to flight they take;
A flight of fancy for fancies sake.

We are but simple creatures all,
Yet how complex we make the fall.
Of all the lies upon the shelf
The biggest ones are saved for self.

Oh but to know an honest heart!
Who unafraid to throw the dart,
Will bearing on a bloody chest
Display the scars of sin confessed.

And so my poem speaks my love,
For you dear-heart do not come scrubbed;
But let me finger through the grime
And let me feel the you that's mine.
